Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Body wash

It has been awhile since my last post…not because God hasn’t been on the move; not because He hasn’t been doing countless miracles in our lives daily, but when seasons change, you have to go with the flow of what God wants you to do. Being flexible is not an option in the Kingdom of God, it is a necessity!!

With that said, here is where I begin… Yesterday started off like most Saturdays with me being grateful to God for everything He is doing in our lives and praying about sales, etc. as it is errand running day. The menu for the week was planned, coupons clipped and we got ready to go out. One of the things on my list was body wash as mine was finishing.

Several months ago, we were introduced to Shea Moisture’s products (hair, skin, etc.) and I can’t say enough about it. It is all natural, smells great and leaves my hair and skin glowing. This is not an advertisment for the product line, but I need to explain how hooked we are on the products and don’t care to run out of them. Obviously we are not the only ones since the shelves are constantly being emptied of these products. So, if you don’t go to the store at the right time, they just might be out of what you want and the product line is not carried everywhere. It is only sold in a few select stores. I had tried one fragrance of the body wash and wanted to try this particular one (Coconut and Hibisus). I use the Coconut and Hibiscus shampoo and conditioner for my hair and it smells fantastic. It has all the smells that remind me of home (Caribbean), plus, what can be better than smelling like a tropical pina colada all day;)  Anyway, we went to the store with the intention of picking one up. No matter where we looked, the Coconut and Hibiscus body wash was sold out. For me, that is unacceptable!! Not because I blame the store for running out, but because I know who I am and Whose I am. There is no way they would be out of what I wanted..so I was determined to get one. I called an associate over and explained to him what I was looking for and if he could check to see if they had any in the back. He graciously complied and checked his computer to see if maybe they hadn’t put all of the stock out on the shelves. To my dismay, not only did they not have any in the back, but apparently every other location of theirs in the surrounding cities were out of stock as well. What?!?!

For those of you that know me by now and have either read my book or my other blogs, you know that the associate lost me at we don’t have any. To me, he began to sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher in the cartoon. Wa wa wa wa….”NO WAY”!! I know my Daddy and He wouldn’t allow me to go without!! My sister had reached the aisle before me and she also confirmed that she checked the shelves and couldn’t locate that particular fragrance. Yeah right!! Since this was completely unacceptable to me, I did what I always do when I believe everyone else is wrong because I am arrogant enough in my Daddy to believe that He will defy everyone’s reality; He will break all the laws of nature and do what He has always done for me, make one show up out of nowhere.

I went back to the same shelf where the product should be located and began to look among the remaining other fragrances and ‘Lo and Behold’ can you guess what happened? There were three bottles of another fragrance on a shelf next to the one I was looking for. I kept picking them up, opening the bottles and smelling the fragrances. For some reason, one of the bottles smelled like the Coconut and Hibiscus. I smelled it again and then decided to look at the label because my brain couldn’t seem to compute what I was seeing. Well, needless to say, in my hand, I was holding a bottle of Coconut and Hibiscus body wash that “just happened” to be stashed among bottles that were identical in color. My sister and I began to laugh…anyone looking at us would think we were drunk. All she kept saying is “Why am I not surprised!! Why am I not surprised!! Of course!! If the store tells us there isn’t any, one would “magically” show up just for you:!!! I looked at her with my chin in the air and a cocky smile on my face and said “See, I told you!! There is no way God wouldn’t put one there just for me”!! Psalm 20:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)  7 Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.

That is me!! I am famous for boasting about my Daddy God who will not let me down. I know He will always come through for me. He always has..why would this time or any other time be different. If I ask God for something and I don’t get it, I don’t pout and get angry with God. I know He didn’t allow me to have it for my own protection. We need to become that way. If others can boast about their earthly daddies who are only human..why can’t we boast about our Heavenly Daddy who owns and gives everything. Nothing good will He withold from you. Psalm 84:11 Amplified Bible (AMP) 11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
